Electrolyte gummy bears took over keto TikTok for a reason: the formula is just a flavored electrolyte packet, plain gelatin, and hot water, and it turns a drink mix into something you can carry in a pocket. This version uses two Saltivate Orange stick packs, so a batch of about 50 bears holds two full servings of electrolytes, 1,600mg of sodium in total. The bears come out glossy and translucent, since the mix has no dyes, with a chew that lands lightly salty-sweet.
Ingredients
Makes about 50 small gummy bears, which works out to 2 servings of electrolytes (about 25 bears per serving).
- 2 Saltivate Orange stick packs
- 3 tbsp unflavored gelatin (about three 0.25 oz (7 g) packets)
- 2/3 cup (160 ml) water
Instructions
- Heat 2/3 cup (160 ml) water in a small saucepan until steaming but not boiling, then take it off the heat.
- Whisk in both Saltivate Orange packets until fully dissolved.
- Sprinkle the gelatin over the surface and whisk for 1 to 2 minutes until no granules remain.
- Use a dropper or small spoon to fill a silicone gummy bear mold. Work quickly; the mixture starts to set as it cools.
- Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours until firm.
- Pop the bears out of the mold and transfer to an airtight container.
Serving suggestions and variations
- Any flavor works with the same ratios. Mango Pineapple stick packs swap in directly; for Watermelon, use 2 scoops from the jar.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Gelatin softens in heat, so keep a run-day bag shaded on hot days.
- For a firmer, chewier bear, add one extra tablespoon of gelatin.
