Mango Pineapple Margarita

A mango pineapple margarita with electrolytes is less of a gimmick than it sounds: salt already belongs on a margarita, and Saltivate Mango Pineapple puts it in the drink as well as on the rim. The mix brings real mango pineapple flavor, 800mg of sodium, and zero sugar of its own, so the drink stays bright instead of cloying. Tequila is optional; with soda water instead it is a zero proof glass everyone at the party can drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 serving Mango Pineapple
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Lime juice
  • 4 oz (120 ml) Mango nectar
  • 2 cups Ice
  • 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) Tequila, optional (or soda water)

Steps

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim and dip it in a pinch of the Saltivate serving mixed with a little sugar.
  2. Shake the rest of the serving with the lime juice, mango nectar, and tequila, if using, over ice.
  3. Strain over fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Per serving with tequila: about 160 kcal, 14g carbs, 12g sugar.

Serving suggestions and variations

  • Zero proof as written. Use soda water in place of the tequila; everything else stays the same.
  • Salted rim. Rub the rim with lime and dip it in coarse salt.
  • Spicy edge. A thin slice of jalapeno blended with the ice adds a slow heat.
