Tropical WaterTok Water

Your rating
Tall tumbler of tropical fruit water with a Saltivate Mango Pineapple stick packet

Most watertok water recipes start with two pumps of syrup and a packet of powdered sweetener. This one skips both: a 32 oz tumbler of cold water, frozen pineapple, fresh mango, and one stick of Saltivate Mango Pineapple, which is sweetened with Reb M from fermented rice instead of stevia or sugar. It tastes lightly salty-sweet and tropical, the frozen pineapple keeps it ice-cold while it perfumes the water, and one stick carries 800 mg sodium, 240 mg potassium, and 60 mg magnesium.

Ingredients

Makes one 32 oz tumbler (1 serving of electrolytes).

  • 1 stick pack Saltivate Mango Pineapple (1 serving)
  • About 20 oz (600 ml) cold water (enough to fill the tumbler)
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen mango cubes
  • 1 lime wedge (optional)
  • 2 cups ice

Instructions

  1. Fill a 32 oz tumbler about halfway with ice.
  2. Add the frozen pineapple and mango on top of the ice.
  3. Pour in cold water, leaving an inch of room at the top.
  4. Empty in one stick pack of Saltivate Mango Pineapple.
  5. Seal the lid and shake, or stir for about 30 seconds until fully dissolved.
  6. Squeeze in the lime wedge if using, drop it in, and sip through a straw.

Serving suggestions and variations

  • All-frozen fruit works as extra ice: use a full cup of frozen pineapple and skip the fresh mango if that is what you have.
  • If your tumbler holds 20 to 24 oz, the same single stick works; one serving covers anywhere from 16 to 32 oz of water, so just expect a slightly bolder flavor.
  • Keeps in the fridge for up to 24 hours. The fruit infuses more as it sits, so a tumbler built the night before tastes even more tropical by morning.

Per serving: about 25 kcal (estimate).
