Electrolyte Protein Shake

An electrolyte protein shake handles two post workout jobs in one cup: the protein you were already going to drink, plus the sodium you lose in sweat. Banana, milk, and your usual protein powder get a serving of Saltivate Raw Unflavored, which brings 800mg of sodium along with potassium and magnesium and no sweeteners, just a clean salty edge that lightly seasons the shake. Make it right after training while the blender is out, or as a quick breakfast on gym mornings.

Ingredients

Steps

  1. Add protein, milk, and banana to a blender.
  2. Add a serving of Raw Unflavored.
  3. Blend until smooth.

Per serving: about 350 kcal, 40g carbs, 26g sugar.

Serving suggestions and variations

  • Best pairings. The salt sits most naturally in chocolate or peanut butter protein flavors.
  • Thicker shake. Use a frozen banana and hold back a splash of the milk.
  • Nut butter. A spoonful of peanut butter turns it into more of a meal.
